Color Code Converter – HEX, RGB, CMYK & HSV in Seconds

Working with colors across different software? One app wants HEX, another needs RGB, and your print vendor is asking for CMYK.

Manually converting between color formats is tedious and error-prone. One wrong number and your brand blue becomes brand purple.

This Color Code Converter handles all the math instantly. Enter any color — get HEX, RGB, CMYK, and HSV values in real time. Copy with one click. Done.

Example Conversion

Let’s say you have a HEX code from a website: #2ECC71 (a vibrant green).

Enter it in the tool, and you’ll instantly see:

  • HEXA: #2ECC71FF
  • RGBA: rgba(46, 204, 113, 1)
  • CMYKA: cmyka(77%, 0%, 45%, 20%, 100%)
  • HSVA: hsva(145°, 77%, 80%, 100%)

Now you can grab whichever format you need.

Understanding Your Results

The tool outputs four formats:

  • HEXA — The standard web format. The last two characters (AA) represent alpha (transparency). FF = fully opaque.
  • RGBA — Red, Green, Blue values (0-255) plus Alpha (0-1). Common in CSS and design software.
  • CMYKA — Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key (Black) as percentages. Used for print design.
  • HSVA — Hue (0-360°), Saturation, Value (brightness) as percentages. Intuitive for color adjustments.

Note: CMYK conversion is an approximation. For professional print work, always verify with your printer’s color profile.

How Color Conversion Works

Different color formats exist because screens and printers work differently.

RGB and HEX are additive color models — they mix light. Your monitor combines red, green, and blue light to create colors. HEX is just RGB written in hexadecimal (base-16) notation.

CMYK is subtractive — it mixes inks. Printers layer cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to absorb light and create color on paper.

HSV (also called HSB) describes color the way humans perceive it: by hue (the actual color), saturation (intensity), and value (brightness). It’s useful for making intuitive adjustments like “make this color darker” or “more vivid.”

This tool converts between all four using standard mathematical formulas. The sliders let you see exactly how changing one value affects the others.

FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions)

What’s the difference between HEX and HEXA?

Standard HEX codes have 6 characters (#RRGGBB). HEXA adds 2 more for alpha/transparency (#RRGGBBAA). FF means fully opaque, 00 means fully transparent.

Why do my CMYK values look different in Photoshop?

This tool uses a standard conversion formula. Professional design software like Photoshop applies specific color profiles (like FOGRA or SWOP) that adjust values for real-world printing. For precise print work, use your software’s built-in converter with the appropriate profile.

Can I convert RGB to HEX?

es. Adjust the RGB sliders to your desired values, and the HEX code updates automatically. Copy it with one click.

Is this tool accurate for web design?

Absolutely. HEX, RGB, and HSV conversions are mathematically precise. These are the formats used in CSS, HTML, and web design tools.

Does this work on mobile?

Yes. The layout adapts to smaller screens, and all features (sliders, color picker, copy buttons) work with touch.
